IT'S EASIER THAN YOU THINK...

You just have the THINK that it can be easy.  There are several growth tactics that can lead you to a stronger Facebook page with higher engagement.  And If you construct your posts correctly, this should land more customers on your website, resulting in more sales.

Here's 10 quick growth tactics (in no particular order)

GROWTH TACTIC COUNTDOWN

  1. Make sure your content aligns with your brand ideal.  Your quilters don't buy WHAT you do, they buy WHY you do it.  Align yourself with quilters who believe in what you believe and you will connect in deeper, more meaningful (and profitable) ways.

  2. Use video to engage your customers.  Consider face-to-face videos (maybe interview a quilter or designer), product videos (you can usually share manufacturer vids), user-generated videos (get some testimonials), infomercials (it works on TV; it also works on social media), and unboxing videos (don't forget to link the product).

  3. Host Facebook Lives.  It doesn't have to be the same type of live feed every time.  Consider demonstrations, customer Q/A, sales/promos, new features, new lines, information/education, and customer testimonials (better be sure of what the customer is going to say before going live).

  4. Don't forget to leverage Facebook Messenger.  Turn it on, add a greeting, add an instant reply, add an away message, and create answers to FAQs.

  5. Encourage your quilters to provide you with user-generated content.  Don't be afraid to ask for content.  Share website reviews, support a cause, or design a contest/giveaway that promotes user-generated content.  Your quilters have lots of images that you could use.  Don't forget to create your custom hashtag(s) for your customers to use.

  6. Use hash tags.  We covered this in-depth in January -- To Hash or Not To Hash. Here's the link, in case you missed it.
Consider creating hashtags unique to your brand.  Remember to consider your platform before adding too many hashtags.  Facebook prefers 1-2 hashtags per post.

  7. Run regular giveaways.  Connect to your website, and make sure to capture customer name and email address.  Remember, you don't always have to give away something that costs you money.  You can give recipes, trinkets and doodads you've picked up at market, and don't forget to give away PRIORITY access to whatever!

  8. Run flash sales.  Have a goal and promote scarcity.  Hurry, buy now.  Limited supply.  You know the drill.  Flash sales are great for reducing seasonal inventory.

  9. Promote quizzes and polls.  Quilters love to respond.  Simply ask them which border fabric they prefer (provide an image with the options), and you will get many opinions.  This is a great way to boost engagement.

  10. Post regular stories.  Facebook followers see Stories first.  Don't you want to be seen first?  Use stories to meet your customer acquisition goals, announce schedule changes, invoke a call-to-action, or link your webpage.

  11. Start a Facebook Group.  Make sure to make it visible, but we encourage Members Only, to add a level of security to your group.  Encourage interactive posts, host regular Facebook Lives for the group, encourage user generated content, get feedback on product launches, provide exclusive discounts and promotions, and provide referral incentives.

  12. Repurpose existing content.  Review your shipping policy, upsell offers, tell your brand story, point out best sellers, describe products, deliver testimonials/product reviews, repeat blog/educational posts, provide examples of product care, and describe how products are made.  You are adding new followers every day.  Repurposed material is appreciated by new customers.

  13. Engage -- engage -- engage.  I've saved the best for last!  The easiest way to increase your engagement is to engage with your follower.  React to each post, react to each comment, respond to each comment (yes, I mean EVERY comment), listen to feedback, and create new posts/comments accordingly.

And that's a wrap!  Give it a little thought, and you will see, increasing your social media growth is easier than you thought it would be.
