Never Ignore a customer!

Imagine a quilter walks into your shop, admires a beautiful quilt, and you choose to ignore their comment. Unthinkable, right? Yet, on social media, we often neglect potential customers who express interest in our posts. Let's explore how engaging with comments can transform your social media presence and boost your business.

Responses Improve Reach

When you create a post, social media algorithms show it to a fraction of your followers. Reacting to comments increases visibility, and responding actively portrays your business as customer-focused. The initial hours after posting are crucial for organic reach. Your active engagement signals to the platform that your business cares about its audience, leading to increased visibility.


Responding to comments not only enhances post reach but also establishes a connection with your audience. Acknowledging comments shows appreciation for support and values customers, potentially converting interactions into sales.


Building Longevity

Ever noticed older posts resurfacing in your feed? They stay relevant because they receive recent interactions. Adding responses to comments can extend the lifespan of your posts without resorting to paid promotions. Keep the conversation alive, and your content will continue to reach a wider audience over time.

Consider the Alternative

Ignoring comments can lead to a significant drop in reach and engagement. Engaging with your audience creates a dynamic, interactive feed that stands out. Failing to respond might result in posts fading away from newsfeeds, diminishing your online presence.

Does This Really Work?

Let's look at the numbers. Successful Facebook accounts attribute their reach and engagement to active comment engagement. By actively reacting and responding, this account experienced remarkable growth. Yes, this is a real account -- it's mine.  My tried and true methods work for me, and they can work for you.



 In contrast, an account that ignored comments struggled with minimal reach and engagement, highlighting the importance of engagement in social media success.  When your post reach and engagement are LESS than your followers, you are doing something very wrong with your social media strategy.

This account holder has joined one of my Facebook coaching groups, and I anticipate that these numbers will look VERY different in 3 months.

Don't Have Time to Reply to All Comments?

If time constraints hinder your ability to engage with every comment, consider delegating the task. Hiring a virtual assistant (VA) can be a game-changer. A VA can manage general comments, alerting you only when your direct response is necessary. Provide your VA with a social media posting calendar, including anticipated FAQ responses to streamline the process.

Unlocking social media success for quilt retailers involves active engagement. Responding to comments not only boosts post visibility but also builds lasting connections with your audience.
