HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU SHARE???

Sharing shared content on your business's Facebook page offers lots of advantages, including increased engagement and the establishment of industry expertise. However, it also comes with challenges, such as maintaining brand consistency, content quality control, and managing engagement effectively.  Understanding the challenges of sharing shared content can improve your overall social media marketing strategies.

Don't forget -- over HALF of your social media content should be curated from others.  Sharing shared content is the easiest way to curate content.

To help you avoid any pitfalls, let's look at the challenges of sharing shared content.

1. Maintaining Brand Consistency

While sharing shared content is beneficial, it's essential to ensure that the content aligns with your brand's values and messaging. Maintaining consistency in your brand image can be challenging when sharing content from various sources.

2. Curation Quality Control

Not all shared content is created equal. It's crucial to vet the content you share thoroughly. Sharing inaccurate or poorly researched content can damage your reputation and credibility.

3. Originality and Uniqueness

Over-reliance on shared content can lead to a lack of originality. Your audience may lose interest if they only see content they've encountered elsewhere, particularly if you share from the same source, repeatedly. Striking a balance between shared and original content is key.

4. Content Attribution

Properly attributing shared content to its original source is vital to maintain ethical and legal standards. Failure to do so can lead to copyright issues and disputes.

5. Managing Engagement and Comments

Increased engagement is a goal, but it also means more comments and interactions to manage. Ensuring timely responses and moderating discussions can be time-consuming. THIS IS A GREAT PROBLEM TO HAVE!!

6. Algorithm Challenges

Social media algorithms may prioritize original content over shared content. This can affect the reach and visibility of your posts, making it crucial to diversify your content strategy.  This is all the more reason to properly balance original and curated content.  Facebook does not "punish" curated content, as long as the account holder also posts original, authentic content of its own.

7. Scheduling Shared Content

One of the biggest hurdles to sharing shared content is TIMING.  Facebook makes it extremely difficult to SCHEDULE shared content.  But there's a back door method, and I can show you how.

Scheduling Shared Content on Facebook is the subject of my Open Coach session this Tuesday, October 10 at 10:00 AM CST.
