DOES SIZE REALLY MATTER? |
When it comes to social media images, YES, size matters! It matters very much, actually. The hard part is nailing down what size of image is needed for each application and each platform. If it seems like image size specs are always changing, THEY ARE!
|
 |
You finally get the perfect banner image for your social media account, and, poof, the platform updates, your image is resized, and now it is out of focus or pixelated. I hate it when that happens.

|
IN A HURRY |
When I end up with a blurry or pixelated image, the culprit is usually ME. I'm usually in a hurry, trying to post am image from my phone without editing, cutting or cropping.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then it's worth taking a little time to make sure the image is clean, clear, and ready to post.

EDITING TIPS |
-
Start with a quality shot -- get a close, tight image!
-
Crop & straighten to improve your composition.
-
Spot-clean images (use a blur brush or eraser tool to take out distracting words or images).
-
Color-correct your images.
-
Adjust exposure and contrast.
-
Re-name the image (image numbers are hard to search through).
There are many photo editing apps you can use easily. You don't have to be an Photoshop expert. Grab an app that is easy to use (and FREE), like Canva. Then experiment with ways to improve those images before you post them. Many editing apps can be used on your phone -- you don't have to transfer to a laptop or desktop!
|
 |
Like your business sign above your door, the images you post on social media promote your brand and convey important information to your audience. If the images are blurry or off, the message your customers receive may NOT be the message you mean to send.
